We were 5 and the driver that was supposed to bring us straight from Merzouga to Fes. Two Brazilians, three Australians and a Moroccan driver that could only speak Arabic and few words in French.
Every few kilometers he was stopping the car and hanging out with some random people in the road. At a certain moment he left the main highway and turned left in a street completely out of the route. We started to get inside a slum and he drove non stop for half an hour. We were asking him what was happening and he was just saying is OK.
Few minutes after an old Mercedes-Benz stopped in front of our car, two random guys left the car and came to compliment our driver. Everything was just getting weird. Our driver left the car and said with mimics he was coming back soon. The Australian girl started to get anxious and nervous with the situation, I started to make a movie so we could have proofs for the future. 
The driver left his phone in the car and it started to ring. After 10 minutes he suddenly appear running and manage to get the call. As soon as he arrived he said: we go. All of us were thinking: WHERE??? In the end he was back in the main road and was just a false hijack alarm. On the way we stopped for toilet under some trees.
As soon as we reached our final destination, Festival terminal we where relieved nothing happened. I asked to take a picture with the driver so I could remember his face. Such a crazy experience!!!
