Wakeboarding and Canoeing in Nicaragua Lake

For those who enjoy Wakeboarding, the nicaragua lake is a great spot. You get a board and a boat pulls you while you hold a rope. If it is to hard for you, instead of a board you can use a buoy.

We took a taxi in the morning in the center of Granada, a city in Nicarágua, to reach the Nautic club in the appointment arranged, where kayaks where waiting us.

The price? 30 USD for 15 minutes but was completely worth! We chose a board so we could learn the basics and stand up on it. The boat driver also brought the buoy in case we would not suceed to use the board.

A soon as we arrived I prepared my self and entered the water. Wakeboarding is a great sport but you must have strong arms to keep stand. You must hold strong the handle and keep the cable between your legs.

To start you must lay in the water with your body facing up and the board parallel to the boat. After the first boat move and managing to keep stand you must slowly turn your board until you get to the right position. Now you must only keep your position and enjoy! Depending on the side you move your body, the board follow your movement.

After 10 minutes of wakeboarding I was exausted, left the board in the boat and tried the buoy. Two people can go in the buoy and is attached to the cable in the boat and is really fun!

When we finished the tour there weren’t any taxis available to head back to the hostel so we hichhiked in a trunck of a Hilux direction Granada.
