The city of Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia, a small country, smaller than Switzerland, which has about 2 million inhabitants. The city has a medieval air given its castle high in the mountain and 4 dragons that welcome us as soon as we arrive in the main bridge of the city.

A curious fact is that in the main square there is not a statue of a warrior but a poet, showing a unique characteristic of the city. There are two belvederes to have a panoramic view of Ljubljana, one is the castle that sits on top of a mountain and the other is the skyscraper tower which has a restaurant on the top floor and a very interesting spiral staircase.

In the castle there is the possibility of getting into it paying or you can also climb a ladder near the entrance of the ticket office that gives you access to a free lookout.

In addition to these two sites that should be visited, a walk of about three hours allow you to get to know the main sights of the small town, including museums and old buildings.

A very nice place to visit is the Central Market which runs daily until about two in the afternoon and there you can find various types of fruits, flowers, among other local things.

At the end of the day, cross the bridge that is full of padlocks and sit in one of the restaurants across the river for a local beer and snack.
