Empowering kids in Kenya by Martin Kibera

I met Martin Kibera trough the couchsurfing community. He travelled the world as a football freestyle street artist. He grew up in Gatina community in Nairobi and over there he created an NGO to take kids off the crime and stimulate them to play football.

He supplies balls, clothes and separate the best players to be coach. After explaining about the project Martin called the kids s I could shake hands.

I was really happy with that moment. He asked me to give a speech to the kids and I told them to dream high, just as the creator of the NGO did.

We took a beautiful picture together and he reinforced some fotball coach lessons.

Martin brought me to the NGO office and showed the crafts made by the children’s mothers and sold on exhibits to support the project. He also introduced me to his partner in this project called Gatina Youth & Empowerment.

He said that donations of football boots are very welcome and has a page on Facebook were people can contact him. Any kind of support is welcome including liking and sharing his project on the social media. The future of many children depends on this beautiful project.
