Visit Morisset park that situates 3 hours away by train from Sydney, in the city of Lake Macquaire is incredible for those who likes interaction with wild nature. This place is famous to host many curious and lovely Kangaroos.
How to get there?
To reach this park you can catch the train in Sydney Central station and board in one of the next train from the line “Central Coast and Newcastle”. After 2 and a half hours you get off in Morisset station.
I visited this place two times. the first I used the train, the second I rented a car with my family. If you are in more people I recommend the car which makes the visit way easier.
For those who took the train, the park is 5 quilometres away from Morisset station. If you are fit, you can go by walk, if not, you have two options. The first option is to catch a bus, but the timetable from bus is not that frequent and If you go to late there is no more buses. The second option is taking a taxi with we did and cost us 15 AUD. You must call a taxi service and sometimes can take 30 minutes to one hour until the car arrive, considering that they come from another city.
How to interact with the Kangaroos?
Kangaroos are lovely and very different from what I expected. The first time I went to the park I was with my friend Rodrigo Totti and Mathilda.
We didn’t brought food and I recommend tourists not to bring because they are wild animals and this human interference in their natural life is no healthy. Even without food was totally possible to interact with the Kangaroos. Some tourists brought so many food that they were being attacked by the kangaroos and some of the animals were reacting aggressive.
To go back we stayed in the road and showed our thumbs. We luckily got a free ride by one local Australian gentleman to the station.
The second time I went to the park I was with my family which felt very comfortable in the park.
